Learning That Builds Bright Minds and Strong Character
At Dorinda School, our curriculum is designed to develop the whole child. We combine internationally recognised frameworks with engaging, purposeful learning experiences that help children become confident learners, creative thinkers, problem-solvers and responsible individuals.
Our curriculum is built around two core frameworks:
* Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for our Crèche, Playgroup and Early Years
* International Primary Curriculum (IPC) for our Graders
Alongside these frameworks, we provide rich learning experiences in literacy, mathematics, science, technology, creative arts, physical development, personal and social development, and character education.
Our Early Years Curriculum | EYFS
For our youngest Royals, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, providing a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
Our Early Years programme recognises that children learn best through meaningful experiences, purposeful play, exploration and positive relationships.
Learning is developed across the seven areas of learning and development:
* Communication and Language
* Personal, Social and Emotional Development
* Physical Development
* Literacy
* Mathematics
* Understanding the World
* Expressive Arts and Design
From their earliest years, our children are encouraged to ask questions, explore their environment, communicate confidently, develop independence and build positive relationships.
Our Primary Curriculum | IPC
As children progress into our Grade School, we use the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) to provide a broad, engaging and internationally minded education.
The IPC brings subjects together through thematic units, allowing pupils to make meaningful connections between different areas of learning.
Our Graders develop knowledge and skills through:
* English and Literacy
* Mathematics
* Science
* History and Geography
* Computing and Technology
* Creative Arts
* Physical Education
* Personal, Social and Emotional Development
* International-mindedness
Through the IPC, pupils are encouraged not only to know more, but to think more deeply, ask questions, collaborate, investigate and apply what they have learnt to real-world situations.
More Than Academics
At Dorinda School, we believe that academic excellence and strong character should grow together.
Our pupils are intentionally nurtured to demonstrate our Royal Values:
Integrity
Determination
Excellence
Authenticity
Love
We want every Royal to leave Dorinda not only as a confident learner, but as a thoughtful, responsible and capable young person who can make good choices and contribute positively to the world around them.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Our curriculum is enriched through experiences that bring learning to life.
Music, technology, swimming, creative arts, clubs, educational trips, projects, performances, competitions and hands-on activities give our pupils opportunities to discover their interests, develop new skills and learn beyond the traditional classroom.
At every stage, our goal is simple:
To help every child learn with purpose, grow with confidence and thrive with character.
Discover the Dorinda difference.
